Resumen:

What are we implying when we talk about smart artificial systems? I propose a list of implications pointing to paradigms of brain theories that cannot be disregarded in a discussion of this kind. The present contribution is to use the description of the paradigms for the benefit of an intelligent vs. a smart discourse. The difference between intelligent and smart discourses boils down to the fact that intelligent systems are those with the greatest degree of smartness. I postulate that the combining of paradigms leads to the implementation of artificial systems that are smarter than their components alone. I suspect that this is what the body-brain does dynamically. © Springer 2008.
