Resumen:

Currently, the world we live in is not only threatened by wars, famine, poverty and social injustice, but by a bigger problem that will affect all life around the globe, and the ecological crisis may be even worse than these current issues. Climate change is a fact that will have a great effect on every living thing. The world as we know it will cease to exist, and adaptation is a must if we are to survive as a species. The ecological crisis is a new concern. There have been, and probably always will be, wars and poverty; but without a sustainable ecology, everything will become worse. Our planet-our home-will change so dramatically that we have to act now, or a massive destruction of natural resources will determine the future of human existence. The first step in solving any difficulty is knowing that it exists. We need information; learning about current issues, understanding the problem and where we stand on it, gives us the power to influence decisions and provide the means to solve the crisis. In this chapter, the importance of raising ecological conscious awareness of the world's climate change is emphasised and the different effects on natural and human resources are considered, by comparing a developed country such as Australia with Mexico, an under-developed nation. © 2009 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
