Resumen:

The design of hypoidal gears has many degrees of freedom; some external as eccentricity, diameters, surfaces of pitch; other internal as pressure angle, helix angle, or involute. All parameters are linked, producing teeth continuously variable in their section, which are not scalable. Apart of indexing, Coordinate Measuring Machines are absolutely required for quality control, reverse engineering, or set up in manufacturing. For designing protocols of measure with coordinate machines, it is necessary to define: invulometry, boundaries of teeth and paths for touching. To interpret the data, mathematical tools for transformations and correlations are required. Additional tools for analysing interference in assemblies are also presented.
