Resumen:

The increased concentration of greenhouse gases that cause climate change is mainly due to the use of fossil fuels, which are depleting day by day, hence, it is important to produce clean power sources based renewables such as wind and sun. In the present paper examines the profitability that Mexico has in the residential and commercial sectors, producing electricity from clean sources of energy under different conditions: the level of solar radiation, wind speed, electricity consumption the property, the price of electricity, price of equipment required to produce solar and wind energy. By using HOMER software evaluates the amount of clean energy that can occur in a particular property to get the most value for money. The result shows that in general is economically viable use of clean energy sources under different conditions such as eliminating the use of batteries that rise too high initial investment; therefore it is necessary to stay with a connection to the grid. Producing electricity from clean sources of energy is economically viable in most of Mexico's territory and generates environmental benefits because it reduces the emission of greenhouse gases.
