Resumen:

The case of the anomalous signal propagation in the low-latitude American sector is studied. The possibility of the signal reflection from the electron density gradient caused by the northern crest of the equatorial ionization anomaly at the background of geomagnetic activity increase is considered. In the absence of other probable causes, it seems that the short-time anomalous signal reflection from the density gradient is possible when the local geomagnetic index Kmex is more or equal to 5 during the evening hours. © 2020 EurAAP.
