Resumen:

The phenomenon of the comic will be studied based on the historical analysis of the concept of popular culture and its aesthetic and critical reception, the question about the limits of the body category, and the feasibility of a hermeneutics of laughter from the context of European popular culture. For this purpose, we will review the tacit debate between two authors: Theodor Lipps and Mikhail M. Bakhtin, the first one from the perspective of a psychology of humor and the second one from the problematic view of popular culture in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
