Resumen:

La0.7-xLnxCa0.3MnO3 (Ln = Pr or Sm) perovskites synthesized by Pechini method with different stoichiometries (x = 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.6) were analyzed in order to evaluate the effect of cationic substitution and final composition on thermal properties; specific heat, thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity at different temperatures are specifically reported. The results are discussed in terms of the potential use as a cathode material to be applied in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) applications at intermediate temperatures (600 to 800°C). The results showed that thermal conductivity decreases as Pr doping increases; but a different trend is observed with samarium: first, a decrease is observed from x = 0.1 to x = 0.3, and then, from x = 0.3 to x = 0.6, an increase is determined. Also, thermal diffusivity presents a marked behavior when Sm-based perovskites display a high cation substitution (x = 0.6).
