Resumen:

This article shows Latin American Children's literature today as the product of historical relations developed in colonial and neocolonial conditions, national and international literary currents, as much as a framework of political and educational aims where migration has enrichened oral and written heritages that are appropriated in collective cultural processes. The concept of Latin America is explored, at the time current trends of the practice and business of children's literature are linked to some of the salient authors, illustrators and editors of a trade that contributes to forge and negotiate collective and individual identities in the region. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd.
