Resumen:

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have emerged as potential tools in biomedical applications as a result of their development as a safe and effective nanomedicine. CNTs have remarkable properties such as good stability, biocompatibility, non-immunogenicity, ease of size alteration, and high drug-loading proficiency. All these properties can be exploited to improve the classical treatments of cancer whether through conjugation of chemotherapeutics or combining the CNTs nanostructures with other strategies such as radiotherapy agents. In this chapter, we describe the diverse properties of CNTs, highlighting their application as drug delivery systems for cancer therapy focusing on new designs and trends. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd.
