Resumen:

Owing to the scarcity of green spaces in cities, the installation of green infrastructure on façades and roofs have gained importance in providing a range of ecosystem services. Compared with natural soils, common growing media for green roofs and vertical green systems on façades consist of predetermined mixtures of organic and inorganic, natural, modified and synthetic materials, arranged in a soil-like horizon structure to provide anchorage, store and provide nutrients and water but allow fast drainage. They are referred to as Technosols, soils having large amounts of manufactured and modified materials (artifacts), and can be adapted for each greenery system. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd.
