Burns are one of the most severe and difficult lesions in all trauma. Proper treatment is essential for saving burn patient?s lives and function, and to do so, advanced knowledge of this ailment is very important. Burn treatment starts from very simple things that could sound logical, but when putting them into action may be one of the most confusing and stressing things to do. Things like transport and referral of the patients, primary inspection, secondary inspection, choosing the best surgery for the patient, fluid resuscitation, are some of the areas that are being reviewed in this chapter, so that the plastic surgeon has a quick guide of how to treat burn patients and start the initial evaluation, so that we can honor our oath to save lives. © 2024 The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
